Bio:
Marcos Lopez is a freelance photographer splitting time between Atlanta, Ga and Burbank,CA, his home . His Expertise revolves around the human element and its co-existence in the real time world that surrounds us. The best way to describe his work would be: He is a visual storyteller. He documents people in their spaces using still photography as his medium. He works nonstop capturing imagery that inspire and make us aware of fleeting human emotions in all of us. We only need to take the time witnessing the situations that surround us. Marcos sets out, stops ,captures these fleeting images others pass in a blink of the eye.
His keen awareness of the human element is a key to his successful gallery presentation’s following a deep-rooted passion for the human spirit in all of us.
His visual perceptions have earned him numerous awards. His most recent accolade, he was awarded a second grand prize for his series on Dementia. The work joined a group show traveling the USA. The Photoville “fence “Project seen in Brooklyn, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston Denver and los Angeles.
His most recent juried selections include Critics choose: 1/22, and Postcards from here juried by Maria Kelly, Assistant Curator of Photography, High Museum of Art, Atlanta: 3/22 .The " Tent People” series was included in a group of 8 finalist for review from Photographic Resource Center, Cambridge, MA .5/22. He has been picked to attend the Center portfolio review in Santa Fe,NM this fall.
