This work only consists of two elements: a large hollow stainless-steel ball perched atop a cast aluminum manufacturing artifact. Over 50 years ago, when I was a fledgling engineering student, I found the latter in a waste bin behind a laboratory building in 1968 at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Its form had some strange appeal to me, and I kept it all these years not knowing what to do with it. In 2017, however, its beefiness and strength gave me a vision of great potential energy.
