John-Paul Pochin

Mesmerised 2022

Photograph, 61 x 76 cm

@ John-Paul Pochin

We have always enjoyed our garden and have increasingly added more edible plant areas. During the first Covid lockdown the garden became an even bigger focus and a source of comfort. I often find I've absent-mindedly wandered outside deep in thought and end up mesmerised by some element of this micro-universe and its inhabitants. While there is nothing better than cooking with ingredients from your own garden, not all plants are edible and not all are native, this swan plant for example which the bees and other insects love.
