The Face of Climate Change 2019
Photograph, 61 x 76 cm

We've all seen images of tragic wildfires in distant places, but for me, the 2019 Pigeon Valley forest fire was a wake-up call, a sign that climate change is already affecting us here and now. When I made this photograph of the sun setting through the plume of smoke from the fire, I felt a sense of shock and also a jolt. I realised there's no time to lose in acting personally and joining with others pushing for changes to
the way we live, treat each other, and other forms of life. We have a precious opportunity for a better way of life to emerge.
