One-In-One-Hundred 2021

Photograph, 61 x 76 cm

@ Grant Udy

On July 17th 2021, Marlborough had the largest ever flood in the region, considered a one-in-one-hundred-year event. Botham's Bend across from the Ferry Rd bridge in Spring Creek flooded. The water didn't recede for 4-5 weeks.

Between 2018 and 2020 I lived nearby in Chaytors Rd. The road would normally close 1-2 times a year due to flooding and the water would recede within 24hrs. This is the longest time I've ever seen it closed.
