It's Their Beach 2022

Photograph, 45 x 136 cm

@ Rachel Hale

A fur seal on the beach at Cape Farewell. This beach belongs to them. It is inaccessible from the shore so we can't get down to disturb them there, just observe from far above. It's wonderful to watch them frolic in the waves, oblivious to the humans watching above. As much as we humans think we own the planet, we don't. We share it with so many others, and we have to look after it. For us and for them.
