Clean and Green? 2022

Photograph, 61 x 91 cm

@ Sheree Davidson

I made this image during a trip to Blenheim and felt so lucky to capture the colours and beauty of nature. I've seen other lakes where rubbish has been dumped, harming wildlife, causing health issues and even death. Seeing the beauty of this clean, unpolluted lake, reminded me of why NZ is classed as 'Clean and Green'. But I’m not so sure we deserve the slogan as much as we did in years past. We humans are polluting our lakes, rivers and the ocean, harming the living world, and forgetting that it includes us.
